This is a model 0 Steinway grand piano, fitted with the Aeolian Duo-Art reproducing system. This versatile instrument would play the Duo-Art rolls (recorded by famous pianists) in addition to the standard 88 note rolls, easily available at most music shops and libraries. A switch changes from one type of roll to the other.

Frank Holland bought the piano for £70 from the estate of the Marquis of Carisbrook, the son of Princess Beatrice in 1960.
